I’m drawn to anything that uses my creativity. I always knew I was an artist, but it took time to understand exactly what that meant and which form it would take. Throughout college I studied everything from Fashion and Fine Art to Digital Design, enjoying the variety. While studying Contemporary Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, I developed a consistent practice and delved deeper into context. This helped me understand storytelling across different mediums and within my communications career. I learned to trust my creativity, ideas, and instincts in a vibrant community of artists, makers, and thinkers.
My process begins with learning about the subject and understanding the story that needs to be told. I seek creative solutions by thinking outside the box, working with different mediums to explore ideas and techniques fluidly, depending on where my research takes me. By finding the right message, I can produce the best deliverables. My practice focuses on bringing stories and concepts to life visually. With a strong interest in behavior and identity, people often catch my attention. I enjoy bringing ideas and imagination into new realities, creating work that reflects the personality and story of each client.
Coming from a household of creative people working in diverse crafts, the motto was often “I’m not buying that if I can make it myself,” so I’ve dabbled in many things. I’ve sewn, baked, designed one-of-a-kind wedding dresses, and created large-scale murals (some of which you can see below). My main focus is creating artwork from mixed media, experimenting with different materials and surfaces. I’ve also worked on screen printing, pattern and surface design, videos, animations, and digital artwork — sometimes combining them both. This experimental approach keeps me open to exploring new ways of working professionally, adapting to whatever is asked. Most of my work is large scale, as I love working big and bold. Many private clients know generally what they want, but I help them see the bigger picture and develop the full concept.
